Relay for Life Information

The John Paterson Chorus has been asked to sing
at the opening ceremonies for the Relay For Life
in Newington on Friday, May 13th! This is a BIG
honor that they have selected us to sing!

What will we sing?

OK, here it is! For the 2016 Newington Relay for Life,
the John Paterson Chorus* will sing FIGHT SONG by
Rachel Platten!!! Woohoo!!! :)

* For this event, any 4th grader is invited to join us
as long as you practice and show up to any mandatory
"Fight Song" rehearsals.

Understanding why - This year's theme for the Relay
for Life is "Survival". Families who deal with cancer
need to be survivors and deal with many hardships.
These hardships can mean a great deal of pain and
suffering, and it sometimes means losing someone you love.

"Fight Song" is a perfect song to inspire people to
fight on, no matter how hard life gets.

When and where will we sing?

Friday night, May 13th at Mill Pond Park. Opening ceremony usually
starts either 5:00 or 6:00. Once Mr. Kemp knows more
information, he will post that time here.

Practice "Fight Song":

LISTEN ONLY to Rachel Platten singing "Fight Song".
Mr. Kemp knows you've heard the song a million times,
but listen to her sing it again, and think to yourself about
how she is using her voice to create the powerful melody
and message.
