High Hopes

The John Paterson Chorus has received a special invitation
to sing at the The American Cancer Society's 2010 Newington
Relay for Life. We will be singing the old song "High Hopes".
Click on the links below to help you learn the song, then
Mr. Kemp will work with the chorus to get us ready for the
event.

The date for the Relay for Life is Friday, May 21st at Mill Pond.
We will meet at 5:45 P.M. The opening ceremony starts at 6:00,
and we will sing at approximately 6:30.

Families are invited to come for the early festivities of the event
starting at 4:00. Please be advised that parents should plan on
staying with their children until Mr. Kemp gathers everyone
together at 5:45. After we sing at 6:30, the singers should plan
on rejoining their parents.

The links:

#1 - FIRST, check out this very old video of Frank Sinatra
singing "High Hopes" with a group of children. This is from a
long time ago, probably when your grandparents were little kids!
Please ask your parents for permission before you click this
YouTube video.

#2 - SECOND, follow along with THESE WORDS. They are just
a little different than the way Frank Sinatra and those kids sang
the song. THESE WORDS are the way WE will sing the song.

#3 - THIRD, practice the song with this Karaoke version. You will
notice that sometimes there are kids singing along, and sometimes
there are no kids singing. The hard part will be singing the verses
when no other kids are helping us. Go back to Link #1 and listen a
couple more times if you are still having trouble.
