Volume Rap

Miss Fischer's class worked on this fancy "Rap" song.

It explains some of the Volume concepts they learned about in Math class.

Check it out! After you listen, try rapping along!

Volume Rap

Ev’ry cup you drink has 8 little ounces;
There’s 8 little ounces in ev’ry single cup:

          2 cups in a pint,
          2 pints in a quart,
          4 quarts in a gallon,
          Now drink it all up!

Don’t try to fool me with a milliliter;
It’s way too small, now don’t be a cheater!

          2 cups in a pint,
          2 pints in a quart,
          4 quarts in a gallon,
          Now drink it all up!

I’ll drink my juice in a whole new way,
In a graduated cylinder, that’s how I play!
          (I play, all day, that’s how it’s gonna stay!)
Now fill it up to the very, very top;
Stick in an ice cube, now you’ll need a mop!
          (A mop, a mop, yes, now you’ll need a mop!)
You spilled the juice, because the ice cube;
Displaced some liquid in that funny little tube.
          (A tube, a tube, a graduated cylinder looks like a tube.)
Just how much Juicy Juice spilled on the floor?
Well listen close and I’ll tell you more.
          (Tell me more, tell me more, tell me, tell me what for?)
It all depends on the volume of the ice,
We’ll figure it out now, HEY, play nice!

Let’s start again, but fill the tube to fifty,
Now toss in the cube kids, cool this is nifty!
          (The juice is fifty, it’s juicy and it’s nifty.)
But I’m reading 60 at the water line,
The cube must be TEN, yes, now you’re doing fine!
          (60 minus 50 is TEN, let’s rhyme!)

          2 cups in a pint,
          2 pints in a quart,
          4 quarts in a gallon,
          Now drink it all up!

          2 cups in a pint,
          2 pints in a quart,
          4 quarts in a gallon,
          Now drink it all up!
